The Faulkner basketball program is one of the most respected small college basketball programs in the country, having won an NAIA national championship as well as having numerous teams make deep runs in the national tournament. The Eagles play in the tough Southern States Athletic Conference, which normally has three to four teams annually earn tournament bids. Newly-renovated Tine Davis Gymnasium is one of the nicest facilities in the conference, and offers Faulkner a distinct home-court advantage. Head coach Scott Sanderson, the son of former Alabama head coach Wimp Sanderson, is in his second year at the helm and instills in his players the desire to succeed both on and off the court.

“This basketball program is well-known at this level throughout the country, and it’s because we’ve been able to bring in quality young men who buy into the system and believe great things can be achieved with hard work and discipline. This program has been successful on the court, but that’s not our measuring stick of success. We want our players, through their dedication to their studies and to our team, to be extremely prepared for life after basketball.” - Head Coach, Scott Sanderson
